Brooks added more All-UAA honors to his impressive resume, also being named to the All-UAA First Team in 2023 and All-UAA Second Team in 2022.
Harris, the only freshman representing the UAA team, joins an elite squad. Harris is the fifth WashU athlete to be named Rookie of the Year, and the first in more than a decade. Harris currently ranks as the only Bears to win Rookie of the Year, joining Melissa Gilkey (2012), Alex Huber (2008), Shanna-Rae Dacanay (2006) and Harry Hutchens (2002). It has been added to the exclusive list along with 2017).
In league play, Brooks and Harris led an offense that ranked second in the league in points (1,039) and points per game (74.2).
Brooks scored a league-leading 17.9 points per game in 14 UAA contests, totaling 250 points. Brooks was third in the league with 8.2 rebounds per game.
Additionally, Brooks ranked fifth in field goal percentage (.500) with 94 buckets.
Brooks scored a UAA season-high 32 points in the win over Case Western Reserve University. In 14 conference contests, Brooks scored at least 15 points in 11 games, with four of those games scoring 20 or more points.
Harris took UAA by storm in his first collegiate campaign, leading the league in field goal percentage of .613 (84-of-137). Harris had a free throw percentage of .649, good for fourth in the league.
Harris averaged 14.6 points per game in the league, finishing eighth on the league scoring list. Additionally, Harris recorded 0.9 blocks per game, the eighth-best clip in the conference.
Averaging 19.9 minutes per game, Harris finished 11th in the league in rebounding and grabbed 5.9 boards per UAA contest.
While playing for UAA, Harris recorded a double-double with 32 points and 11 rebounds against Carnegie Mellon University (January 26) and was named to d3hoops.com's “Team of the Week” on January 29. Harris then scored 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds against Case Western Reserve University (January 28).
Brooks, Harris and the Bears will travel to Waukesha, Wis., for the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. WashU is scheduled to take on No. 23 University of Wisconsin-Stout on Friday, March 1st inside Van Mare Fieldhouse on the campus of Carroll College.The Bears-Blue Devils showdown is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
