When Indy Ignite joins the Professional Volleyball Federation in 2025, it will play its home games inside the event center.
FISHERS, Ind. — Indiana's first professional volleyball team has announced its official home court.
Indy Ignite has joined the Professional Volleyball Federation for the 2025 season, and the Fishers Event Center will be the team's home base.
The center hosted a tour for everyone on Wednesday. At the event, Fishers Mayor Scott Fadones, PVF CEO Jen Spicher and Indy Ignite GM Mary Hughes spoke about the team and the fierce competition they bring to the Indy area.
“Indy Ignite is proud to represent the entire volleyball community, not just in Indianapolis, but across the region that makes Indiana one of the best states in the sport,” Hughes said. Ta. “From Fishers Events Center, our team serves thousands of young athletes across Central Indiana, providing them with great food, easy access and, of course, the best events in the world for a great night out with their families. Ignite's home is scheduled to open in November 2024 and will accommodate up to 7,500 people. The center is part of his $550 million expansion into the Fishers area.
“We are very excited to welcome Indy Ignite and the Professional Volleyball Federation to the Fishers community,” Fadness said. “The Fishers Event Center is set to become the entertainment hub for the entire region, and Indy Ignite will spark a new chapter in the sport in our city. Revolutionizing the world of volleyball from our backyard I look forward to supporting them in their endeavors.”
Several local volleyball clubs participated in the announcement, including the No. 1 nationally ranked Hamilton Southeastern High School girls volleyball team, which won back-to-back state titles in 2022 and 2023.
“Central Indiana is a veritable hotbed for men's and women's volleyball, and is where thousands of talented athletes learn to love the game for the first time,” Spitcher said. “These amazing young women should have the opportunity to continue their careers in the professional arena, and that is the core mission and vision of the Professional Volleyball Federation.”
PVF began competition in January 2024 with seven teams participating. Indy Ignite will be one of his three expansion teams debuting in January 2025.
