new york โ The Skyline Conference announced its weekly honorees for men's volleyball on Tuesday, Feb. 27, and New Jersey City University also had two honorees. 5th year vice captain middle blocker Brandon DaSilva (Kearney, New Jersey/Kearney) The co-captain, also a fifth-year student, was named Player of the Week. Nico Figueroa (Jersey City, NJ/County Prep) Selected as Libero of the Week.
DaSilva led the Gothic Knights to their first win in program history on the road Wednesday night, Feb. 21, over rival Rutgers-Newark in four sets. He led all players in total points (19.0), had a team-high tying 11 kills (.733 batting average) with no errors on 15 swings, and had three digs, two assists, and a career ace. Achieved. He totaled a game-best 11 blocks as a dominant force at the net. Figueroa also led NJCU on Wednesday night with a team-high eight points.
