A female student was shot and killed at Kennesaw State University in Georgia this weekend, the university has confirmed.
KSU officials said the shooting occurred Saturday during an altercation in front of the Austin Residence Complex, and the suspect fled campus.
“Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to the victim's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time,” KSU President Kathy Schweig said in a statement Sunday.
Police have identified the suspect, who is not a KSU student, the university said. He is charged with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
