Morgantown, West Virginia – No. 2 Texas women's swimming and diving won five events Thursday on the third day of competition at the Big 12 Conference Championships at Mylan Park Aquatic Center. The Longhorns won all 11 of her events through her first three days of competition.
Hayley Hernandez The Longhorns won the 1-meter dive, winning the event for the third year in a row. The junior scored 358.35 points and won by almost 18 points.
Emma Sticklen She followed that up with a Big 12 title in the 100 fly, swimming a 50.61 to win and sweeping the state of Texas. olivia bray He took second place with 50.80 points, but Ava Longhi He touched the wall in third place with a swim of 52.28 points.
new student campbell stall The Longhorns once again dominated the podium, winning the 400 IM in a season-best 4:07.14, moving them to No. 13 in the nation this season and No. 5 on Texas' all-time runners list. alicia wilson She won the silver medal with a swim of 4:09.04 and moved up to ninth place on UT's all-time participant rankings. Angie Coe He swam 4:09.38 and won the bronze medal.
Texas wrapped up its individual swimming with a top-four finish in the 200 free. kelly pash The winner touched the wall in 1 minute 42.97 seconds to win the gold medal. Erin Gemmell He won the silver medal with a time of 1 minute 44.34 seconds. Erica Sullivan He won the bronze medal with a time of 1 minute 46.39 seconds. emma davidson He capped off the Longhorns' performance with a swim of 1:47.02, finishing fourth.
The Longhorns ended the night with a win in the 400-meter medley relay. Bray, Anna EllentSticklen and Pasch won in 3:27.18, the seventh-fastest performance in program history.
The Big 12 Championship resumes Friday with qualifying beginning at 9 a.m. Central Time and finals at 5 p.m. Central Time. The final session will be streamed live on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
