ST. Louis, Mo. – Fourteen Sycamores were named to the Missouri Valley Conference swimming and diving all-conference team following last weekend’s conference championships held at the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Indiana.
Erin Cummins (500 free), Claire Parsons (500 Free & 1650 Free), Alexandria Cotter (200IM & 400IM), and cayley kelly (100 fly) all finished in the top three in the individual A finals and earned first team all-conference recognition. Parsons won the individual title in the 1,650-yard freestyle and was named MVC Swimming Newcomer of the Year.
An additional 10 Sycamores competed in the A finals of the Missouri Valley Championships, finishing within the top eight in specific events. Esther Ridebeck Norden, Dorothea Bukvich, Alexa Zadorsky, zoe smith, chloe farro, Umi Matsumoto, Raz HarelAli Pearson Hayley HalsallOlivia DiRuzza competed in finals in multiple events throughout the weekend.
The Sycamores won the 2024 MVC Championship shutout, earning 1294.5 points in the overall team standings and finishing runner-up to Missouri State. Indiana State University set 11 new school records during his four-day meet, some of which were broken multiple times.
Indiana State University will continue its 2024 season with the CSCAA NIC competition March 14-16. bailey betzer and zoe smith will compete in the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships March 14-16.
