“We are pleased to partner with the Cincinnati USA Sports Commission to host the 2021 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament Regionals,” said Xavier University Vice President for Administration and Director of Athletics. Greg Christopher“We've hosted first and second round matches in the past and are excited to host another one and have the opportunity to show off our newly renovated Cintas Center.”
The four regional tournaments in 2021 are in Albany, N.Y. (Times Union Center), Austin, Texas (HEB Center at Cedar Park), Cincinnati (Cintas Center) and Spokane, Wash. (Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena). The Cintas Center will host a regional tournament for the first time since hosting first- and second-round games in 2001, 2010 and 2011.
“The Cincinnati USA Sports Commission is proud to partner with Xavier University to welcome the NCAA Tournament back to Cintas Center,” said Leslie Spencer, executive director of the sports commission. “Our region has some of the best basketball fanbases in the country, and hosting a regional venue means we'll have one of the top women's basketball teams in the country right here at Cintas.”
The NCAA also announced the locations for the 2022 regional tournaments on Wednesday: Bridgeport, Connecticut, Greensboro, North Carolina, Spokane, Washington and Wichita, Kansas.
