NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Colby College women's ice hockey team traveled to the University of Connecticut to take on the Camels in their final NESCAC series of the regular season. Colby defeated Connecticut, 4-2, to improve to 15-7-1 overall and 7-7-1 in conference play.
The Mules started off strong, outscoring Cone 16-6 in the first period. Breanna Studley Colby scored early, followed by Beth Singson Midway through the period. The Mules got a power play later in the period. Megan Maltdam They added another point to make it 3-0 going into the first interval. A Colby penalty early in the second period allowed Connecticut a power-play goal. Colby's Courtney Schumacher Ten minutes later, the Camels responded with their third goal of the season. The Camels scored a goal in the final four seconds of the second period to carry momentum going into the second interval. In the third period, the Camels stopped two penalties and held a 4–2 lead until the end of the game.
The Mules will face off again against the Camels tomorrow afternoon in their final game of the regular season.
