The Hamilton College Continentals will host the Nazareth University Golden Flyers in a 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Hockey Championship first round game at Russell Sage Rink on Wednesday, March 6 at 7 p.m.
The game will be a rematch of the 2023 NCAA first-round game at Sage Rink, which Hamilton won 3-1 on its way to advancing to the national semifinals. The Continentals defeated Nazaré 2-1 in overtime at home on December 5th this season.
Hamilton (15-6-6 overall) received one of three at-large bids to the 11-team tournament. The Continentals advanced to the 2024 New England Small College Athletic Conference Championship Finals, losing to Middlebury College. Hamilton defeated top-seeded Amherst College 2-1 in the conference semifinals on March 1. This will be the Continentals' second NCAA Championship appearance.
The Golden Flyers (22-5-1) have won 15 straight games since losing 3-2 in overtime to Williams College on Jan. 9. Nazareth defeated Utica College to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship from the United College Hockey Conference (UCHC). 2-1 in the UCHC Championship Game on March 2nd. This will be the Golden Flyers' third appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
