UC River Falls defeated Elmira 4-1 to win the 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Ice Hockey Championship title at Hunt Arena in River Falls. The Falcons finished a historic 31-0 season under coach Joe Cranston.
River Falls set a DIII girls ice hockey season win record and reached 30 wins with a 3-2 win over Adrian in the semifinals. Currently, 31 wins in a season is a record that should be broken. The previous record was 29 wins, set by Plattsburgh in 2016 and 2019. The Falcons' undefeated season marks the second undefeated season in DIII women's ice hockey history. The first was Middlebury (27-0) in 2022.

Gustavus Adolphus defeated Amherst 2-1 in overtime, capping an outstanding 27-3-0 season and winning the program's first national championship.
The DIII Women's Ice Hockey Tournament began in 2002 and has been held every year except for the 2020 and 2021 seasons, which were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Plattsburgh State won his record seven championships, and Middlebury College won his four.
