Friday's trailer featured scenes from the sports world's top programs and filming locations. Clemson's rock and subsequent hill run, Notre Dame's famous locker room sign, Boston College's eagle, Florida's alligator, Texas A&M's No. 12 man, Iowa's wave, and of course Wisconsin's winning Paul Bunyan. The ax is emphasized. Naturally, it highlights the unique qualities of college football, the qualities that make this sport special.
Wisconsin fans were quick to point out on social media that the trailer included a Badger celebrating with an axe, and omitted Minnesota completely.
In total, Wisconsin was seen throughout the short video. Players like Hunter Waller, Leon Lowry, Darryl Peterson, Jaheim Thomas, and James Thompson Jr. make appearances, and as expected, Bucky Badger also makes a cameo appearance.
Wisconsin may have struggled, going 7-6 in each of the past two seasons. However, EA Sports clearly believes this is one of the best programs in the sports world. Without the Badgers, the story of this game, and thus the accomplishments of college football, could not be accurately told.
