MEDFORD, Mass. (March 4, 2024) – Tufts University Divers Jay Wilkinson and Cameron Yuen With his performance at last weekend's NCAA Diving Regionals, he officially qualified for the 2024 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships.
Wilkinson qualified for the 1-meter event Saturday by placing second in the 1-meter event with a score of 468.65. Although he missed the 3-meter competition on Friday due to illness, the freshman was able to qualify for Saturday.
Yuen, a junior, had an NCAA qualifying mark of fifth in the 3-meter dash on Friday with a score of 440.55. He earned his sixth and final berth to the national championship tournament from the regional tournament held at Colby College.
For new students and jumbo Elias Brandt and second year student jeremy lawrence He was selected as an alternate for the NCAA competition. They earned this record for combined scores at the district meet, with Brandt scoring a combined score (1 meter and 3 meters) of 858.25 points and Lawrence scoring 840 points.
The NCAA Championships will be held Wednesday through Saturday, March 20-23, in Greensboro, North Carolina. The 3-meter diving competition will take place on Wednesday (March 20) and the 1-meter diving competition is scheduled for Friday (March 22).
This will be the first NCAA appearance for Wilkinson and Yuen. They will join 10 other jumbo swimming teammates who earned NCAA eligibility last Thursday.
If Blount and Lawrence also participate in the tournament, this will be their first national championship berth.
