I know you're scared of the ocean, but this is totally weird.
You'll see what I mean in just a minute.

“I have two sisters. I'm 23 years old, they're 28 (Beck) and 29 (Ada). They both have children, but I don't have any.
We were scheduled to have a family day at a local lake yesterday.
My 29 year old sister FIL had sepsis and had to fly out and asked me to take her two kids to the lake. I said sure. I will also stay at her house until she gets home. We didn't just take them to the lake.
They are not so sure about this…
I have an extreme fear of open water (especially sharks) but I thought it was ok. It was when I went to California as a kid and I loved the ocean.
After that, no matter how active my brain was, I had a huge nightmare about being grabbed by a shark and never went swimming again. I can go into a pool as long as I can see and touch the bottom, but anything like a path, a pond, or a pool at night gives me a full-on panic attack.
they couldn't deal with it.
When I got to the lake yesterday, I started panicking in my head. On the outside everything was fine, but on the inside I could only imagine the shark catching her niece and nephew and there was nothing I could do. So I didn't let them swim.
Of course they cried, and Beck said I was being ridiculous. He said he knows but there's nothing he can do about it.
She calls Ada and tells her to let them go into the water and leave Beck in charge of them. I agreed.
But the moment they dipped their toes, I freaked out and told them, “No, you should stay on the beach.”
It may sound a little unreasonable, but…
Beck yelled at me that she was overpowering me, even though she had a relationship with the kids just like I did. I grabbed both children, put them in the car, and headed out.
We went to see the Taylor Swift movie and had a great time and they were happy.
When I came out of the movie, I had about 200 angry phone calls and emails to Ada and Beck about how they didn't know where they were and how they didn't tell them where they were going when they were acting very irrationally. I found out that it was…
I guess it was about an hour after I checked FindMyPhone that I calmed down because it turned out I was watching a movie, but when I finally called back, Ada gave me a new phone. I felt so terrible.
I tried to defend myself and she literally told me, “There is no way to defend what you did today. You will never see my children again.”
Ita?
