India's Test series victory over England was thanks to young players. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Juler have made it clear that they are keen to jump on every opportunity presented to them and are very capable of keeping the best players out of the best eleven. Sunil Gavaskar said the England series is the best response to players who think the team cannot survive without them.

Despite Virat Kohli not playing in the series, KL Rahul not playing after the first Test, and Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah also not playing in the match, India maintain an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series. He will now play his fifth and final Test in Dharamsala. The highlight of India's remarkable series victory was the performance of the young players. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been great for India. He has scored most of India's runs in the series. He became the series' top scorer with 655 runs, including two doubles.
Shubman Gill, although an established player, has been equally outstanding. He scored a brilliant century in the second innings of the Vizag Test and helped India set a challenging target for England. Gill scored 105 of India's 255 runs in the second innings as Rohit Sharma's side achieved the elusive target of 399 runs. England lost the match by 106 runs, with Gill's knock making the difference.
After accumulating massive runs in domestic cricket, Sarfaraz Khan was able to make his debut in the third Test at Rajkot, where he responded with back-to-back fifties and garnered immense praise from the cricket fraternity. In the fourth Test, Dhruv Jhurel came into the limelight with his brilliant 90-run knock in the first innings, helping India close in on England's score of 353. Jurrell showed great temper in the second innings as well, playing an unbeaten 39-run knock to give India victory. Help India chase 192.

The template for the England series, on the other hand, was very similar to India's historic series victory in which a fading Indian team in Australia during the 2020/21 season tour charted a memorable comeback to win the series. The team suffered a crushing defeat in the Adelaide Test with 36 defeats and lost several key players to injury. The odds were against India, but the performances of the gritty Cheteshwar Pujara and the flamboyant Rishabh Pant helped India win the series his 2-1.
Legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has warned senior players that the Australia-England series is a clear statement for those who believe the team cannot succeed without him.
“India missed a lot of big names in Australia but still managed to get a great win not only at the Gabba but also in Melbourne. They came back after being bowled out for 36, won in Melbourne and then Sydney India fought hard to save the Test match. If Rishabh Pant had stayed at the crease for half an hour, India too could have won that match. His courage, stamina, grit and determination were evident in this match against England,” Gavaskar told Sports Tack.
“So what I always say is we don't need a big name… If a big name thinks India can't win without him, then these two series, it doesn't matter if you're there or not. Cricket is a team sport. It does not depend on one individual,” he added.
