Virginia announced a home-and-home series against Washington State on Tuesday.
The Cavaliers are scheduled to play the Cougars at Scott Stadium on September 27, 2025, before returning to Pullman, Washington, on September 13, 2031.
These two games will be the first soccer matches between the two schools. So far, their main connection is through basketball. Tony Bennett left Washington State in March 2009 to take the head coaching job at UVA.

James Madison junior Fenwick Trimble of Virginia Beach was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week.
The center fielder from Cox High School helped lead JMU to a 3-1 record as the Dukes swept Georgia Southern to improve to 24-15 overall and 10-8 in Sun Belt play. Ta.
For the week, he hit .500 with a 1.517 OPS, going 8 hits, a double, 2 home runs, 5 RBIs, and 5 RBIs in 15 at-bats for a total of 15 bases.

CNU's Martin named C2C Pitcher of the Week
CNU's Jamie Martin (8-1) has been named the Coast-To-Coath Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week. During her five-game win at York College in Pennsylvania, she allowed one hit in four innings and had 10 strikeouts, extending her scoreless streak to 28 innings.
UVA's Bigham named ACC Pitcher of the Week
For the third time this season and the second week in a row, Virginia's Eden Bigham has been named the ACC Pitcher of the Week.
Bigham pitched nine scoreless innings with nine strikeouts in Friday night's loss, helping the Cavaliers to a series victory over No. 3 Duke over the weekend. She avoided having the bases loaded three times and finished the game with no runs allowed in the 12th inning.
She earned her third save of the season in Game 2 of the first series of a doubleheader on Saturday, getting the Cavaliers out of a base-loaded situation with no runs allowed.

Former Seton Hall center commits to JMU.
According to his social media, James Madison has been signed by Seton Hall transfer center Elijah Hutchins-Everett.
The 6-foot-11 junior averaged 3.5 points and 2.5 rebounds last season for the Pirates, who won the National Invitation Tournament. He joins Ebenezer Dawona, who transferred to Georgia Tech, as a player and joins JMU under new coach Preston Spradlin.

UVA's Schwab earns All-ACC First Team spot
Senior attacker Morgan Schwab was the only Virginia player named to the All-ACC first team.
Four Cavaliers were named to the second team: defenseman Maggie Bostein, attacker Katia Carnevale, and midfielders Mackenzie Hogue and Kiki Shaw. The third team had three UVA representatives: attackers Madison Alaimo and Jenna DiNardo, and midfielder Kate Garica.

ODU women earn Sun Belt honors of the year
Old Dominion earned Sun Belt top honors after going undefeated in regular season conference play.
Sophia Johnson was named Player of the Year. She joined Aleksandra Viktorovich in the singles first team and Lydia Laskowskaya in the doubles first team. Dominic Manila was named Coach of the Year and Ulyana Romanova was named Rookie of the Year.
C2C praises captains Hansen and Weiss
Christopher Newport's Lane Weiss and Eddie Polsmil-Hansen were named Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Players of the Week.
Weiss, along with Tessa Trait, took first place in singles and first place in doubles in an 8-1 win over Marymount, winning the women's award. Hansen, along with Cox High School graduate Ashton Legum, earned boys honors after finishing first and second in the singles over the weekend with a 4-0 record.

Captain wins conference award
CNU's Ellie Nuckolls was named C2C's Female Track Athlete of the Week, and teammate Katie Stevens was named Female Field Athlete of the Week.
Nuckols scored 4,141 points in the heptathlon at last weekend's New Captains Classic, ranking 38th in NCAA Division III and fourth in CNU history. Also at that tournament, Stevens threw a personal best of 43.69 meters in the discus, the second-longest in Captains history, and set a personal record in the javelin with a throw of 30.23 meters.
Captains' CJ Reeders was named Field Athlete of the Week. He achieved a season-best triple jump of 14.39 meters at the New Captains Classic, placing him 14th in Division III this year.
UVA steeplechase racing ace named ACC Athlete of the Week
UVA's Nate Mountain earned ACC Athlete of the Week status after a record-breaking weekend at the Virginia Challenge.
In the men's 3,000-meter hurdles invitational division, he set a time of 8 minutes 20.86 seconds, which is both an ACC record and a school record. Mountain finished second to Under Armor's Matthew Wilkinson (8:18.53).

Former UVA forward signs with Minnesota Lynx
Former Virginia forward Kamryn Taylor has signed a training camp contract with the WNBA's Minnesota Lynx. She is the first former Cavalier player to sign with a WNBA team since Jocelyn Willoughby was selected 10th overall in the 2020 draft by the Phoenix Mercury.
Taylor, a native of Peoria, Illinois, committed to UVA in 2021 after two years at Marquette (2019-21). She played in 127 career games, averaging 12.5 points and 5.7 rebounds while shooting 48 percent from the field.
