VENTURA COUNTY, CA – Major League Soccer (MLS) and the LA Galaxy have announced that the MLS NEXT professional team will compete under the name Ventura County FC (VCFC), replacing the former LA Galaxy II title.
This move between the Galaxy and Oak Sports Holdings will help expand the soccer presence as the first professional team of its kind on the Central Coast, which includes cities such as Oxnard, Santa Paula and Thousand Oaks, among others. right.
Community engagement, growing American Soccer in anticipation of the 2026 World Cup, and establishing a youth development academy will all be part of this exciting move.

VCFC will play the remainder of the season at California Lutheran University after participating in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in March.
National Soccer Hall of Fame inductee and Westlake Village native Cobi Jones spoke about the exciting developments in his hometown area.
