Ashwin asked whether IPL could compete with leagues like EPL in terms of popularity, Mysore said that although the tournament is still a “13-year-old toddler”, it could compete with “bigger leagues”. The Kolkata CEO added that he often speaks with NBA, NFL and MLB officials whenever he is invited to a specific press conference during his visit to the US. Kolkata IPL team owners announce partnership with Major League Cricket
Earlier this month, the Kolkata IPL team owners expanded their reach by announcing that they would invest in the upcoming US-based Major League Cricket T20 tournament. Red Chillies Entertainment Group already owns an IPL franchise and also owns a franchise with Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). On December 1, Venky Mysore confirmed the partnership with American Cricket Enterprises on Twitter.
