The TCU women's basketball program added a former four-star player this week by signing a transfer guard. taylor bigby.
Bigby, ranked No. 29 in the Class of 2021, played the past two seasons at USC, starting 18 games and appearing in 65 games.She will be reunited with TCU head coach mark campbell He originally scouted Bigby out of high school while he was an assistant at the University of Oregon.
The Las Vegas native averaged 4.6 points and 19 minutes per game over two years. USC won the Pac-12 Tournament title last season and reached the Elite Eight. Bigby ranks in the top 20 among Pac-12 players in 3-point percentage (37%, 12th) and made multiple threes in 10 games in 2023-24.
Bigby played in just nine games in his one season at Oregon due to injury. Last season, she started 11 games and played in 34 of 35 games, usually guarding the opponent's best player. Her best offensive performance of the season came against Cal State Fullerton, where she scored 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting.
In high school, Bigby was a three-time state champion, a two-time Nevada Gatorade Player of the Year, and a three-time first-team All-State selection.
She has two years of eligibility remaining entering the 2024-25 season.
According to gofrogs.com, the deal will give the Horned Frogs nine players for next season. Former LSU guard Haley Van Lith is reportedly coming to TCU, but she has no plans to commit to her new school yet. The Horned Frogs are expected to announce more signings in the coming weeks.
