Bangalore (Karnataka) [India]March 1 (ANI): UP Warriors skipper Alyssa Healy praised match-winner Grace Harris after their six-wicket win over Gujarat Giants in the ongoing season of the Women's Premier League.
Harris smashed an unbeaten 60 off just 33 deliveries. Her unbeaten knock included her nine boundaries and her two maximums.
After the match, Healy was full of praise for Harris, saying: “She makes cricket look so easy at the moment. Her batting tonight was fantastic.”
In the last five overs, UP Warriors leaked 47 runs, helping Gujarat Giants to a total of 142/5.
“We probably gave them a few too much at the end, but we definitely felt comfortable chasing it down,” she added.
After Kiran Navgire took an early fall while chasing, UP Warriors' middle order stepped up to ensure the match did not slip from their hands.
“At the moment our middle order is doing its job. The important thing for me and Killy is to go out there and do our job in the power play. “It's a balanced team, we have some great players on the bench as well. “RCB are here on Monday night so we should have won the first match and we're looking forward to giving them a crack again,” Healy concluded.
Skipper Healy, who came into the match, continued to pick up boundaries, enjoying himself even after Kiran was sent off. She eventually lost her wicket after scoring 33 in the final over of the powerplay, which had seven boundaries.
Sri Lanka's Chamari Atapattu failed to impress on debut, eventually scoring 17 runs before losing his wicket to left-arm spinner Tanuja Kanwar.
Harris sat out the UP Warriors game and secured their second straight win of the season. (Ani)
