Hey, at least he tried.
Barry Odom, head football coach for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Rebels, is doing everything he can to raise money for the program, and that includes captaining the bulls. .
Oh, and its name just so happens to be “Widowmaker.” It's so relaxing. (Related: Former NFL superstar Braylon Edwards saves elderly man's life after YMCA attack: Report)
Odom managed to kill two birds with one stone with the following display.
1. He had to bring in money for UNLV football, and
2. He continues to swim in the glory of Las Vegas. For those who don't remember or don't know at all, Odom led the Rebels to his nine wins in 2023 and on multiple occasions he drew crowds of over 40,000 to Allegiant Stadium. .
Now, to maintain his stardom, he appeared at the “Horns & Helmets” event held at the South Point Hotel, where tickets cost $150 each, with proceeds going to the Rebels football program. Ta. But Odom didn't just show up, he decided to ride the bull and give fans a show (or at least he tried to).
My guy ended up getting beat up.

What a genius way to bring money into your program. Yeah, it's a little dangerous, a little risky, a little embarrassing, but it's a very creative way to attract support.
Kudos to Barry Odom and the UNLV Rebels for this.
I already had a love affair with the Las Vegas connection, but this one is too good not to admit.
