“Annika is a versatile post player with the ability to help us in a variety of ways,” Pritzweit said. “She scored low, defended inside and shot well from the arc. As a coach's kid, Ani has a wealth of knowledge of the game in terms of the X's and O's and what she does. “We need you to help us find a way to compete at the highest level. We are excited to welcome Annika home and suit up for the Gophers.” !”
Stewart, 6-3, appeared in 25 games this season but missed eight due to injury as Nebraska advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. In Nebraska's final four games of the season, Stewart totaled 24 points and eight rebounds in just over 35 minutes. Stewart scored 94 points last season, averaging 3.8 points in 6.9 minutes per game, shooting 45.5 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from beyond the arc.
During his four-year career as a Husker, Stewart appeared in 111 games, scoring 572 points and grabbing 268 rebounds. She also excelled in her classroom, being named Academic All-Big Ten three times and receiving the 2023 Big Ten Distinguished Scholarship.
Stewart attended Wayzata High School and was named All-State Class 4A first team his senior year, helping the Trojans to a third-place finish. She also earned All-Lake Conference first-team honors and was an All-Metro selection.
“I am looking forward to the opportunity to return to my hometown for my final season of college basketball,” Stewart said. “I chose to be a Gopher because of how much Coach P and staff have put into this program. I can't wait to compete with the team, grow as a player and connect with the community. Gophers !”
