Alabama has offered a scholarship to anyone who has heard the name Bo Jackson, a running back in the 2025 recruiting class.
Seriously, that's his name (or at least his nickname).
Lamar “Bo” Jackson is a four-star recruit from Villa Angela St. Louis University. Joseph High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He is rated his No. 8 running back and No. 101 player in his 2025 class, according to the 247 Sports Composite.
Jackson announced on Monday via Twitter/X that he had received a scholarship offer from the Crimson Tide. His post was tagged with Alabama head coach Karen DeBoer, running backs coach Robert Gillespie, and secondary coach Colin Hitchler (who coached in Cincinnati for several seasons), specifically Assistant director of player personnel Gerret McElwain and others liked the post.
Alabama famously failed to sign McAdory High School's “original” Bo Jackson (real name: Vincent) in the 1982 freshman class, and Jackson later received a three-year contract from then-Crimson Tide assistant Ken Donahue. This suggests that he was told he might not be able to start until his senior year. Jackson, of course, signed with Auburn and not only started as a freshman, but also scored the winning touchdown against Alabama in that year's Iron Bowl and won the Heisman Trophy as a senior in 1985.
According to 247Sports, Bo Jackson also has scholarship offers from Florida, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Wisconsin. He says he has offers…but none to Auburn University (at least not yet).
