Hanover, New Hampshire – The Union University men’s hockey team ended its season Saturday night with a 4-2 loss to Dartmouth College in the second game of the ECAC hockey quarterfinals at Thompson Arena.
Union finished the season with a record of 16-18-3 and 9-10-3 in ECAC hockey play.

Both teams had chances to score early, but Union took the lead. After a minor penalty was reviewed and turned into a 5-minute major penalty, Union capitalized on the power play to give the Garnet Chargers a 1-0 lead.junior Karen Ferguson He took the first shot, but it was deflected by Villegas, giving him 11 points.th season goals. Both teams entered the second period tied at one point, and the Garnet Chargers took a 2-1 lead on Villegas' second goal of the night. The junior took a shot from right in front of the goal and scored his 12th goal of the season. The lead didn't last long, as Dartmouth's Matt Fusco hit a well-placed shot to tie the game at two after less than six minutes.
Union took the remaining penalty and took the lead with the third goal. The Garnet Chargers had several chances in the third, but Dartmouth scored the go-ahead goal at 14:04 from Luke Haymes.Union Pull 2nd year student Kyle Chauvet Dartmouth was awarded a penalty late in the frame, giving Union a 6-on-4 chance before favoring an extra attacker. Dartmouth missed a penalty but converted an empty-netter with 39 seconds left.
Chauvet made 21 saves in the loss, including 10 in the final period, and finished the season with a record of 15-16-3. Cooper Black stopped 24 shots in the win.
