UNC basketball forward Harrison Ingram appears to be sticking with his plan to remain in the NBA Draft.
Ingram is participating in the NBA Draft Complex this week in Chicago, where 247 Sports' Isaac Trotter asked Ingram on Tuesday about his stay-or-remain decision. Ingram said he is “fully committed” to the draft.
“I'm trying to be sensible and leave it open, but I'm going to stay (in the draft),” Ingram said in a video posted to X (formerly Twitter).
In the second scrimmage of the NBA Draft Combine, which aired on ESPN2 on Tuesday, Ingram scored 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting, including three free throws and three 3-pointers, in just under 20 minutes. He also had four rebounds and three steals.
At the combine, Ingram was 6 feet 5 inches tall without shoes, weighed 233 pounds and had a 7-foot wingspan.
After a great debut season as a junior at UNC, Ingram announced his decision to enter the draft in April while maintaining his college eligibility. The withdrawal deadline for early entrants is May 29th, and the NBA Draft is scheduled for June 26th.
Ingram is projected to be selected 25th overall by the New York Knicks, according to NBA.com's latest mock draft. Ingram entered the combine and was expected to be either a second-round pick or an undrafted free agent.
In his first season with the Tar Heels, Ingram's versatility was a key piece for a rebuilt team that won the ACC Regular Season Championship and earned the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
After two seasons at Stanford, Ingram averaged 12.2 points and 8.8 rebounds per game as a junior at UNC. He had 11 double-doubles, shot 38.5 percent from 3-point range, and was one of the Tar Heels' most reliable defenders through 37 games.
