Good morning, BBN!
It was a weekend filled with sports, with the NBA playoffs, NHL playoffs, and NFL Draft all taking place. It was also a busy weekend in Lexington as Mark Pope and his Kentucky Wildcats staff hosted several drop-offs for official visits.
One of the key players on campus was St. Mary's guard Aidan Mahaney. The rising junior came to Lexington after a stint at UCONN, but the Cats will have to wait and see if he ultimately makes it.
Mahaney, who averaged just over 13 PPG for the Gaels last season, will be one of the go-to options on the offensive end of the court and will provide a veteran presence to pair with Lamont Butler in the backcourt next season.
There seems to be some work left in this recruitment, but if Pope can lure Mahaney away from the University of Michigan and UCONN, it will be marked as the first major recruiting victory of the new era.
It will be close, but the Cats seem to be in good shape. Start watching Aidan Mahaney.
Tweet of the day
If you've watched UConn over the past two seasons, you'll know that their team is a collection of pieces that form an elite unit.
The same is true of what the Pope is doing. Kentucky fans need to remember that a collection of top talent doesn't always (and most of the time doesn't) win championships.

It's a great phrase that I hope the fan base will have patience with.
