The Spoils: Selling the Future of American Basketball is a feature-length documentary film that explores the importance of money in the American basketball industry. The film is the result of a decade of intimate coverage of the Compton Magic, a renowned American AAU program, and their CEO, Etop Udo Emma, who has sent over 35 players to the NBA. The film will have its global premiere on JOLT on June 13, 2024. The film features a host of NBA talent, including former USC basketball stars Evan Mobley (Cleveland Cavaliers) and Onyeka Okongwu (Atlanta Hawks).
Additionally, the film features expert analysis and insight from some of the top basketball insiders and executives, including Jay Bilas, Sonny Vaccaro and Howard Beck.
The Spoils lifts the veil, reveals the extent of corporate influence, paints an accurate picture of the current state of basketball and erases the notion of “amateurism” at all levels of the sport. The film reveals the new incentives that drive the business of American basketball in today's “NIL” era.
We will all want to watch this film and find out more about Evan Mobley and Onyeka Okongwu.
