Duke basketball is believed to be a top candidate to sign former Tulane fourth-year guard Zion James. But even if the Blue Devils win that transfer battle, there will still be two scholarships up for grabs.

It wouldn't be surprising if head coach John Scheyer awarded one of those scholarships to Stanley Bolden, a 7-footer from Istanbul, Turkey. He joined the Duke basketball family in September 2021 and is the only remaining player on the final Blue Devil team led by now-retired legend Mike Krzyzewski.
It's probably Bolden's influence that Duke's staff has shown renewed interest in Delin Saran, a freshman at the University of California, Irvine, who also hails from Istanbul. And it's worth noting that the 6-foot-4, 190-pound guard has some familiarity with the state, having attended Asheville School (North Carolina) for prep.
NFcomtrThe page dedicated to all things Turkish basketball lists potential suitors that have contacted Saran, including Stanford University, Vanderbilt University, Northwestern University, University of Georgia, and Marquette University, as well as Jon Scheyer's Blue Devils. It was reported over the weekend that his name was on the list.
In his only season at UC Irvine, 20-year-old Delin Saran averaged 10.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists while shooting 50.2 percent from the field, 34.9 percent from beyond the arc, and 80.0 from the charity stripe. The percentage was recorded.
Saran averaged double-digit points in just 19.1 minutes off the bench in 31 games for an Anteeters team that went 24-10 overall and boasted the best record in the Big West at 17-3. He averaged points per game.
