PSV won their 25th league title in style on Sunday, returning to the top of the Eredivisie.
Peter Bosz's side defeated Sparta Rotterdam 4-2 on Sunday, scoring twice in the second half to take the lead and eventually pull away at the Philips Stadion. Malik Tillman started in midfield and played 90 minutes, while Ricardo Pepi came on as a substitute and had one assist in a 12-minute cameo.
With both teams tied at 2-2 at half-time, PSV took the lead in the second half with goals from Olivier Boscali and Jourdan Thezet.
Injured U.S. Men's National Team fullback Sergino Dest played an important role on the team this season despite being sidelined with a torn ACL. Dest made a total of 37 appearances for PSV, scoring two goals and providing seven assists in all competitions.
PSV are reportedly interested in signing Dest from parent club Barcelona on a permanent transfer this summer.
Tillman joined on a season-long loan from Bayern Munich and has nine goals and 15 assists in 37 appearances. The 21-year-old is still linked with a permanent move to PSV, despite signing a contract extension with Bayern last summer.
Pepi has mainly appeared for PSV off the bench this season after joining from Augsburg on a permanent deal last summer. The 21-year-old has played 632 minutes so far, scoring nine goals and adding two assists.
Former U.S. Soccer sporting director Ernie Stewart also enjoyed his first trophy win since returning to the Netherlands. Stewart, PSV's technical director, was key to the loan deals of Dest and Tillman, as well as the permanent acquisition of Pepi.
PSV has two finals scheduled this month, against Fortuna Sittard and RKC Waalwijk.
