Tennessee State University has unveiled the founding jerseys of the first-ever HBCU ice hockey team.
Head Coach, TSU Duante Abercrombie unveiled TSU's 2025-26 home jersey during the Lower City Panel at the 67th TSUNAA Convention held on campus.
The jersey is primarily blue with red and white accents for a vibrant look, and on the back of the jersey, the last name and number appear in bold white letters and numbers outlined in red, making them stand out against the blue background.
The front of the jersey features the Tennessee State Tigers symbol, a fierce, stylized tiger head printed in white and outlined in red. The logo is centered on the chest, grabbing immediate attention. The jersey features traditional hockey laces at the neckline, enhancing the authentic hockey look. Red and white stripes adorn the sleeves, adding to the beauty and balance of the overall design.
Additionally, the TSU abbreviation appears on the sleeve for added school pride. The jersey combines elements of classic hockey style with Tennessee State University's bold visual identity, resulting in a unique, eye-catching piece of sports apparel that proudly represents the spirit and tradition of TSU.
Abercrombie, a Hampton University graduate, was named head coach of the program in April. TSU will be the first HBCU to compete in ice hockey in the second half of 2025. It has already secured its first commitment.
