Syracuse, N.Y. โ Syracuse football has doubled the number of recruits verbally committed to the 2025 class in 24 hours.
The Orange received their third commitment of the weekend on Sunday from New York defensive back Jordan Gibbs, who will play at Longwood High School in Middle Island, New York.
He visited SU's spring practice on Saturday, joining offensive lineman Byron Washington and cornerback Marcus Upton, who committed after the visit, as prospects. A team spokesperson said 40 to 50 commitments were on campus for the second day of spring training.
Gibbs is 6-foot-2, 170 pounds and also runs track at Longwood. He is currently unrated on the 247Sports Composite.
“Jordan is homegrown,'' Longwood head football coach Sean Kluber wrote about X, formerly known as Twitter. “He's been through our youth program, offseason training, and is an excellent sprinter on our track and field team. We couldn't be more proud (and) we're looking forward to his senior year.” !โ
Syracuse currently has six verbally committed players for the 2025 class (four defensive players, two offensive players). All but Washington are from the Northeast.
