Stony Brook University's swimming and diving team has earned National Scholar status for the fall 2023 semester, according to an announcement from the Collegiate Swimming and Diving Coaches Association.
The Seawolves swimming and diving program demonstrated excellent academic performance throughout the fall 2023 semester. The team earned her a 3.31 team GPA, meeting his 3.30 team GPA required for the honor.
“I am very pleased with our team’s performance in the classroom this semester,” said head coach Mark Anderson. “While we aim to excel in the pool, academic success is paramount. Being able to balance athletics and academics at this level will help women succeed in the future.” It’s always exciting to see that!”
Individually, 14 swimming and diving student-athletes were named to the Coastal Athletic Association Chairman's Honor Roll in the fall. This roster requires him to have a 3.0 GPA. As announced earlier this month, six student-athletes earned the highest honors designation from the league, qualifying them for the fall 2023 semester with a minimum 3.7 GPA.
A total of 783 teams from 461 NCAA and NAIA institutions were named to the Fall 2023 Scholar All-America teams.
In the pool, Stony Brook is preparing for the CAA Championship, which will be held from February 28 to March 2 in Hampton, Virginia.
