Waterville, Maine – Riley Lytala (Sterling, Massachusetts)
and Aidan Grady (Sandwich, Massachusetts) Last weekend, Norwich's men's and women's diving programs completed a perfect season, becoming the first divers in program history to qualify and compete in the NCAA division. From Friday, March 1st until Saturday, March 2nd, he will see action at the Region 3 Diving Championships hosted by Colby College, before participating in the Diving III Regionals.
Raitala competed in the women's 1-meter championship on Friday night, opening the weekend with a score of 316.80. The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Female Diver of the Year award went to Amherst College's Sydney Bluestein, who competed in New England's premier competition. Raitala scored 18th on the back 1 1/2 summer salt 1/2 twist free dive and she finished the contest strong.
Grady continued in the men's 1-meter championship on Saturday afternoon, scoring 353.30 points. Grady also faced stiff competition, with Thomas Cable of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy taking first place. Grady, who also won GNAC Men's Diver of the Year, made some impressions, finishing 12th on two dives: a forward 2 1/2 somersault tuck and an inward 1 1/2 somersault tuck. He showed a great performance.

Raitala and Grady were the only GNAC divers to qualify for one of the four NCAA divisions. III Diving Regional Championships. The pair had a rift at the same time this season as they each earned his five Diver of the Week honors in addition to GNAC Diver of the Year honors. Both helped the Cadets win the conference championship for the second straight season.
