Jim Hill had one of the most memorable signing day events in Tigers history. Arian Taylor signed with Meridian Community College for swimming. She is the first Jackson Public Schools student-athlete to earn a swimming scholarship. She is also the first black female swimmer to sign with the MCC Eagles. The 50m and her 100m freestyle swimmer hopes to inspire others by paving her way to JPS. “I'm starting to figure it out a little bit (but there's still a lot to absorb),” Taylor said. “It's a real blessing to be able to pioneer JPS. I think it's all down to His Royal Highness and his family. I'm going to take it somewhere and hopefully inspire others.” Jim Hill also had two players from his playoff baseball team enroll in college. Pitcher Blake Bostic is headed to Tougaloo, and pitcher Cleveland Puckett Jr. is headed to Stillman College in Alabama.
