The Springfield Township High School boys and girls swim teams captured Class AA honors at the District 1 Swimming Championships held Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Graham Aquatic Center in York.

Lower Moreland senior Esther Park took home the girls Class 2A Outstanding Swimmer honor.

The Abington High School boys wrestling team placed 6th at the District 1 East Tournament held on Saturday, February 24th.
In the 145-pound weight class, Elijah Brown took third place, Dylan Keisling took second place at 189 pounds, John Wright took second place at 215 pounds, and Solomon Wesley took fourth place at 285 pounds.
The three members will participate in the PIAA Southeast AAA Regional Tournament in Oxford on Friday and Saturday.
cheltenham high school
Cheltenham High School senior Jordan Sowell (right) won the Pennsylvania Indoor Track and Field Championship Saturday with a 48-09 victory.
Sowell is scheduled to compete in the Nike Indoor Nationals on March 10 at the Armory in New York City, the district said.
Junior Nathan Hoffman (left) placed seventh in the high jump, breaking the program's previous record with a 6-4 record.
The team tied for 15th place with 12 points.
The women's track and field team finished sixth with 23 points at the PIAA state championships held at State University on Saturday.
The team finished in the top three with Michelle Corsa in the 60m, Amira Nesmith in the 60m and Nesmith, Kira Murray, Kendall Nelson and Michelle Corsa in the 4x200m.
Nesmith also placed fourth in the 200 meters.
On the Panthers' women's wrestling team, freshman Ashe Branch-Houston placed fourth at 118 pounds, becoming the first state qualifier in program history. during the regional championships in Quakertown on Saturday.
After opening with a 9-6 win, Branch-Houston was eliminated in the semifinals and returned to the repechage tournament, the district announced.
Senior Ciara Rodriguez finished fifth at 142 pounds. The state alternate game is scheduled to be held March 7-9 at the Giant Center in Hershey. The team finished tied for 24th place out of 45 teams.
