SPASH will soon have a new men's national soccer coach.
Bill Ross has coached soccer at various levels for over 30 years and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the youth soccer program.
Ross began his coaching career in the D.C. Everest School District, where he served as the boys head coach from 1993-1997. She then started the women's program in 1993, and was the head coach of that program for seven years.
He then relocated to work as the executive director of the Madison Area Youth Soccer Association and also supported the girls high school team at McFarland High School. Ross currently coaches with the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association in West Allis and is a board member of the Beaver Dam United Soccer Club, where he coaches multiple teams.
“SPASH has a long and storied history of success,” Ross said in a press release. “It will be our goal to build on past successes, maximize the development of each player, and propel the program to new heights, where excellence in everything we do is expected. Masu.”
Ross also serves as a football official at the NCAA Division 1 and 3 levels for Conference USA, Horizon League and WIAC. Mr. Ross also serves as a WIAA high school football official and has hosted the Wisconsin State Tournament five times.
Loss holds the following coaching certifications:
- National C License (in progress) – US Soccer
- National D License – US Soccer
- Advanced National Diploma – United Soccer Coaches Association
- National Diploma – United Soccer Coaches Association
- Regional Diploma – United Soccer Coaches Association
“We are fortunate to have Coach Ross ready and willing to lead this program,” said SPASH Athletic Director David Hauser. “He brings a wealth of experience as a former head coach and club director. Additionally, he brings a passion for the sport of soccer and a desire to build the SPASH boys program into a strong program. We are thrilled that they are willing to share this with our student-athletes.”
