Burlington, Vermont – Vermont Women's Hockey Head Coach Jim Plummer On Tuesday afternoon, it was announced that Daniel Slominski has joined the staff as assistant coach and director of operations.
“We are excited to welcome Dani to the Vermont women's hockey team,” said Plummer. “She is an incredibly dynamic young coach who will bring positive energy and experience, and we can't wait to see how she will impact all aspects of our program, from administration to on-ice instruction to skill development.”
Slominski, a native of Becker, Minnesota, served as an assistant coach at Oswego State University for the 2023-24 season. The Lakers posted a 14-11-1 record last season. Prior to joining the Lakers, Slominski served as a volunteer assistant coach with the New Ulm (Minnesota) girls high school hockey program. Slominski helped lead the Eagles to a second-place finish in the Big South Conference. In addition to the team's second-place finish, the team also played in the conference championship game five consecutive years. She also helped four graduates secure college commitments for the 2023-24 season.
Slominski played her collegiate hockey career at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, appearing in 65 games as a defenseman, scoring 21 points, committing just three career penalties and posting an on-ice rating of +30. In her final season with the Blugolds in 2021-22, she appeared in 28 games, recording a career-high seven goals and seven assists while posting an on-ice rating of +14. During her time at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, she made it to the NCAA Tournament in the only two years of her career.
