Gautam Gambhir has been the centre of attention for Kolkata Knight Riders after their IPL 2024 victory. He is being praised for good reason. He has transformed a team that was waiting for an IPL title for 10 years into a champion team. Ever since joining KKR as a coach, Gambhir had one mission in mind. And that mission – to lead KKR to their third IPL win – was successful. After Sunday's IPL 2024 win, the joy of the entire KKR team knew no bounds. Even KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan, who has been a constant presence at the team's IPL 2024 matches, was delighted.
Shah Rukh, in his backstage speech, even said that he would like to see Gautam Gambhir on the dance floor, but Gambhir turned down the offer. In a recent interview, Gambhir was asked about his dance prospects after KKR's win, and his answer was an interesting one.

Shah Rukh Boy has been trying to make my work successful and the work continued to be successful after that. Lekin wanted to make sure no one dances because the dance didn't work. Please wait. It was the first time this main dance was successful so no one did that “(You are asking this to the wrong person. I can't dance or sing. Yes, I love to see other people dance and enjoy. Shah Rukh Bhai has been very successful in life and will continue to be successful. But since I can't dance or sing, I don't think he will be successful in this regard),” Gautam Gambhir said while speaking to Sportskeeda.
While some reports have claimed that Gambhir is one of the front-runners for the post, he hinted at something unique in a recent interview after leading KKR to the title in IPL 2024. He was asked about KKR now being a “dressing room that can win trophies”.
“You are saying this today because we have won our third trophy. But if you ask me, we still have two trophies to go before MI and CSK. Though I am happy today, the feeling remains that we are not the most successful team in the IPL. To get there, we need to win three more IPLs and that takes a lot of hard work. So, I guess our next mission is to make KKR the most successful team in the IPL. For me, I couldn't be happier. But the journey has only just begun,” Gautam Gambhir said while speaking to Sportskeeda.
The official deadline for applications to be selected as the coach of the Indian cricket team has closed, with the last date for submitting a Google spreadsheet to become the next India coach being on Monday.
