LENEXA โ The state's top swimmers gathered at the Shawnee Mission Aquatic Center for the state championships. The three-day event concluded Saturday with accomplishments for Topeka area swimmers.
Here are the top results from the state championships:
class 6A
Washburn Rural's Audrey Upoon led the field from the Topeka area. She finished fifth in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:12.72. The sophomore also placed sixth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:17.70.
Washburn Rural's Rhiannon Good also did well in the diving division at the state championships. Good finished seventh with 359.40 points.

Class 5-1A
Seaman capped off a great season with a third-place finish on Saturday. Blue Valley Southwest and Andover topped the Vikings with 147 points.
Avery Waltz was Seaman's top performer. She placed second in the 200-yard IM in 2:09.40. Walz also placed second in the 100-yard freestyle with a score of 53.17.
Walz played a key role in Seaman's second-place finish in the 200-yard medley. She served on the first leg of the relay along with Jocelyn Grace, Tauren Walz and Avery Samuelson. The team finished in 1 minute 56.24 seconds.
Grace finished in the top eight in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard IM. Tauren Waltz also placed in the top eight in the 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard butterfly.
Kayleigh and Maddie Gregg of Hayden turned heads in the diving competition at the state championships. Kaylee finished fifth with 364.80 points. Maddie placed 11th with 280.95 points.
