MEMPHIS, Tenn. โ Another man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a beloved Binghampton football coach.
Adrian Goodrich was shot and killed just last month at Scott Street and Yale University.
The suspect, Eric Wilkerson, 41, was charged with aggravated assault. Police said the suspect got out of a car parked next to the victim and began firing at Harold Harris, who was taken into custody last week.
Harris, 52, was reportedly walking down the street at the time of the shooting.
Wilkerson fired a shot at Harris, who then fired back, hitting Goodrich, according to court documents. Wilkerson allegedly left the scene after Harris fought back.
Eric Wilkerson is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday. Harold Harris is charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun and reckless homicide. He is scheduled to return to court on April 2.
Mr. Goodrich, known as Coach Skeet, worked at Green Dot for more than seven years, two years at Bluff City High School and Hillcrest High School. He also volunteered and coached at Bellevue Middle School.
Bluff City High School has released a statement following the death of their beloved coach.
“He will be remembered for the work he did with the most vulnerable populations on our three campuses and his impact on the students in our after-school programs. He will be greatly missed.”
