Schlichte, a native of Mankato, Minn., spent the past three seasons on the Northern State football coaching staff. Schlichte joined the Timberwolves coaching staff in January 2020 as wide receivers coach and transitioned to quarterbacks coach in June 2020. As quarterbacks coach, Schlichte worked with six quarterbacks, including Hunter Trautman, who set school records for total offense and passing yards. And a touchdown pass. In January 2022, Schlichte was promoted to offensive coordinator at Northern State University. He was responsible for all offensive game planning and play calling. Prior to attending Northern State, Schlichte was a four-year letterwinner and three years as the starting quarterback for the Minnesota State University football team. He played in 50 games and started 40, helping the Mavericks reach the NCAAs three times in 2017, 2018 and 2019. MSU won two NCAA Super Region 4 Championships in 2018 and 2019 and advanced to the NCAA Championship Game in 2019. 2019.

Schlichte earned a bachelor’s degree in social studies education from Minnesota State University in 2019.
