Savannah Country Day (14-2-1), Oconee County (14-1-5), Monday, 5 p.m.
The Hornets will aim to win the state championship in a rematch with the Oconee County team they were eliminated from in the playoffs in the quarterfinals last year.
SCD visited Morgan County on Tuesday and won the game, which was tied at the end of regulation and went to penalties after two overtimes at 2-2. SCD won 3-2 in the penalty shootout.
For the Hornets, senior AC Davis scored the first goal, and freshman Madison Buenos scored the second goal from distance. Sophomore Emma Bromley recorded an assist for SCD.
The Hornets are balanced offensively, with Sofia Okumu leading the team with 16 goals and six assists. Harris Stone had 15 goals and 10 assists, Rhys Bailey had 14 goals and nine assists and Davis had 13 goals and 11 assists.
“(The win against Morgan County) was a really crazy game,” Davis said after celebrating on the field. “I'm proud of my physical tenacity in the second half. This gives me a lot of confidence going into the second round.”
SCD coach David Hooker said his team came close to Morgan County's goal in the first half but couldn't capitalize on some chances. He praised freshman keeper Alice Edwards, who made a big save on a penalty kick to decide the game.
“I've been impressed with our unity this season,” Hooker said. “We are really young with only two seniors on the team, but we have shown a willingness to work together.”

For SVA, Olivia Atkins scored both goals and McCall Civella had an assist in the win over Richmond Academy.
Now, the Saints are off to play Wesleyan, which entered the playoffs as the No. 2 Class 3A team in the state and No. 1 in Oconee County, according to Score Atlanta.

Mount Vernon (9-4-4) vs. Woodville Tompkins (11-4-1), Tuesday, Memorial Stadium, 5 p.m.
Woodville Tompkins returned to the state quarterfinals for the second year in a row with Luis Lopez leading the way in a 7-2 victory over Temple.
The senior, who set the Wolverines' career goals record earlier in the season, found the net four times and assisted on two other goals against Temple. Lopez had 28 goals and seven assists on the year.
Mikael Daniels, freshman Chris Barner (16 goals of the season, four assists) and Adrian Trujillo-Herrera also scored for the Wolverines.
“I was impressed with how we recovered in the second half after giving up two goals early,” said seventh-year Woodville head coach Caleb Pinckney, who picked up his 101st career win with the victory. “Luis (Lopez) put a lot of pressure on the last line. He's a strong player, a Swiss Army knife of sensitivity and toughness. Even when he gets down and dirty, He can score hard-fought goals.”
Savannah Country Day (15-0-1), Hebron Christian (13-1-2), Tuesday, April 30, 6 p.m.
SCD was ranked No. 1 among Class 3A teams by SCORE Atlanta, with Hebron Christian ranked No. 3 and advanced to the playoffs. This will be a rematch of last year's quarterfinals, when Hebron Christian defeated the Hornets in a shootout after a 2-2 tie in regulation. And two extra innings.
SCD had another impressive performance on Wednesday with a 4-0 win over Richmond Academy. Senior Wesley Hooker had two assists and Chase Berger had two goals. Hyers Holland and Ason Helis also scored in SCD's victory.
Michael Hinker, in his ninth season leading the program, said the key to the team's success is a team-first approach.
“No one player is doing all the work. We share the responsibility, and that's a testament to each player,” Hinker said. “Everyone is shifting and doing their part, helping with touches that lead to through passes, and leading scorer Wesley (Hooker) setting up the goal with two assists.''
The matchup against Hebron Christian has a local aspect, as former Calvary Day coach and longtime athletic director Chad Griffith is Hebron Christian's head coach.
