2023 Swamy Award UK Coach of the Year Winner ryan livingston He will be appointed as the new Aquatics GB Manchester Performance Center Lead Coach later this year.
As announced by Aquatics GB this week, the World Championship gold medalist's coach matt richards He plans to retire from Millfield and transition to his new post in September. It comes after he becomes part of the national coaching staff for this summer's Paris Olympics.
The Manchester Performance Center, currently the Paralympic swimming performance center, will be developed into a fully integrated Paralympic and Olympic performance center after the Olympics.
The center will be in addition to two existing world-class swimming program performance centers in Bath, based at the Sports Training Village at the University of Bath, and Loughborough, based at Loughborough University.The former is the home of the coach Dave McNulty and jamie main The latter, on the other hand, is home to mel marshall and Dave Hemmings.
According to Aquatics GB, Livingstone will work under the overall direction of Aquatics GB Associate Performance Director. Tim Jones work closely with rob aubrey and bill furniss – Head Coach of Paralympic and Olympic Swimming respectively – and Swimming National Technical Lead for Swim England
The Manchester Performance Center will also provide the opportunity for Swim England's performance athletes to have a permanent program and a hub to transition at the appropriate time.
Commenting on his new role, Livingstone said: “I'm really looking forward to working at the Manchester Performance Center, which brings Olympic and Paralympic athletes to the LA Cycle.”
