WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary Head Men's Basketball Coach brian earl announced a contract with Forward ryan jackson (Mesa, Arizona/Compass Prep, Arizona) Go to National Letter of Intent. Jackson will be the second player to join the Tribe for the 2024-25 season.
“Ryan is a versatile player who can really shoot the basketball,” Earl said. “He's a good athlete and has great basketball sense. He almost always does the right thing and is in the right position on the court.”
Jackson just finished his career at AZ Compass Prep, where he was a two-time Cyber Interscholastic Basketball Alliance (CIBA) All-League first team selection in 2023 and 2024. He was also named a McDonald's All-American candidate last season as a senior.
The 6-7, 205-pound guard/forward averaged 19 points, nine rebounds, two assists and 1.5 steals per game in 2023-24. He averaged 2.9 3-pointers per game, shooting 54% from the field, 42% from 3-point range, and 81% from the free-throw line. In 2022-23, he averaged 17.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2 assists, while shooting 58.9% from the field, 46.3% from 3-point range and 85% from free throws in CIBA play.
As a junior, Jackson scored 41 points on 8-of-11 3-point shooting in a road win over Grind Session Team Premier Prep in March 2023. He played on the Under Armor Rise circuit at North Bay Basketball Academy.
Jackson was born into a sports family. His mother, Kathy, played volleyball at both the University of Arizona and Portland State University (2000-2004), and his father, Ryan, played football at St. Francis College (2000-2000). ~2001).
Jackson joins St. Thomas Aquinas transfer Kyle Pulliam (Silver Spring, MD/Our Lady of Good Counsel) as part of the Tribe's 2024-2025 freshman class.
