May 15, 2024 – The hugely popular Domagoj Jakopović Liverfish is preparing for a new adventure: Lokpolotok.
Geography professor and food blogger Domagoj Jakopović Ribafisch and RokOtok Association's new sports educational adventure begins on June 23rd! There will also be workshops swimming over 100 kilometers across the east coast of Istria, from Preluk to Pula.
RokPoluotok will kick off on Sunday 23rd June at 18:00 on the beach of Preluk. This is a new project of RokOtok and Ribafish Association – RokPoluotok and involves swimming around the Istrian peninsula. It begins with an informal swim 200 meters long. In addition to various educational workshops, interaction with children and adults, numerous nature cleaning activities and interesting games, we will swim an average of 5 kilometers a day until this year's final goal is achieved. A warm welcome will take place in Pula on July 17th.
Domagoj Jakopović Ribafisch is a famous Croatian food blogger, presenter and currently professor of geography. After swimming around all of Croatia's many inhabited islands between 2019 and 2022, he took a year off and began a new campaign to swim around Croatia's largest peninsula. Swimming will be held in two summer seasons, 2024 and 2025. Next summer I plan to swim from Pula to Sabudria. Since this is a geographical rather than a geopolitical project, the swim includes areas of Istria as well as parts of the Primorye Gorski Kotar province. It is important to emphasize that swimming with children is held only on the beach, since these are large stretches exclusively for professional swimmers accompanied by boats.
Swimming approximately 100 kilometers in 24 days, Ribafisch and other professional swimmers will visit the most beautiful beaches of Primorye, Kvarner and Istria throughout 18 sections, with a focus on ecology, nature conservation and protecting the planet. We will hold 12 interesting workshops. . We also plan to search for hidden treasures and geocaches. Activities to clean the beaches and environment will also be carried out. In certain locations, activities will be carried out aimed at ocean cleaning and reforestation.
All children participating in the workshop will receive a gift.
