After a crushing loss to the Vancouver Canucks in a game in which the Winnipeg Jets could barely fight back, the team will return to the ice Monday night against the Washington Capitals. Fans will be hoping for a return to Rick Bowness-style hockey against a Caps team hungry for a win after the Jets' worst performance of the season. The Capitals are just three points out of the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference despite being sold at the deadline by moving players like Anthony Mantha, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Joel Edmundson. .
The Winnipeg Jets were on the other end of the trade deadline as they added several players to help their team make the playoffs. Although the former New Jersey Devils duo were unable to join their new franchise on the West Coast road trip, Tyler Toffoli and Colin Miller were both in attendance at today's morning skate. Toffoli was wearing #73 and was on the second row alongside Sean Monaghan. Miller appears to be a potential starter against the Caps as he wears the No. 6 jersey and plays at No. 3 alongside Dylan Samberg.rd pairing. The bad news is that Gabriel Vilardi is still out of team action and will likely miss at least one more game.
The Jets are 4 points behind the hot Dallas Stars, who are competing for the top spot in the Central Division. The Colorado Avalanche are tied with Winnipeg, but he has two more games to play and the rushing Nashville team can't forget about the Predators (Players who are 8-0-2 in their last 10 contests and are back within 7 points.).

The Washington Capitals are a surprisingly poor scoring team despite having players chasing Gretzky's career goals record (alexander ovechkin), averaging just over 2.5 goals per game. My hope is that this will allow our defense to rediscover how to check hard without having to be tested so harshly. The Jets can't take them lightly either, as the Caps are coming off impressive wins against the Chicago Blackhawks and Pittsburgh Penguins, outscoring them 10-1.
We expect the Capitals to have a ton of young, hungry players to fill the spots for players who moved before March 8th.th, so Winnipeg should expect a quick forecheck for a dump-in. The Jets have struggled with zone exit passes over the past three games, so it's imperative that players be in the right position to allow easy outs.
Check out how these two franchises compare to each other.
Will both rookies be in the lineup tonight? Will Toffoli find the pocket in his first game in a Jets uniform? What happens when the pair of Samberg and Miller play together?
After all the anxiety caused by Saturday's lackluster effort, can Bowness and his staff get his players in the right frame of mind to play the stingy defensive system he expects?
There are so many questions to answer, and the only way to find out is by tuning in tonight. Please join us here to share your thoughts on the game and support the Winnipeg Jets.
