OREM — The Ogden and Morgan boys volleyball teams advanced to the 3A state tournament semifinals at Utah Valley University with two wins for both teams Friday.
The semifinals are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at UVU.
No. 5 Ogden (14-11) will play No. 1 Grantsville (16-8), while No. 6 Morgan (13-8) will play No. 2 North Sanpete (20-9).
The 3A championship game is scheduled for Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
Ogden took two sweeps and advanced. The Tigers defeated No. 12 Ben Lomond 25-15, 25-12, 25-9 on Friday, then defeated No. 4 Salt Lake Academy 25-18, 28-26, 25-22.
Morgan swept No. 11 Judge Memorial 25-17, 25-7, 25-14 in the morning before defeating No. 3 American Heritage 17-25, 20-25, 25-5. They needed to go for a come-from-behind sweep with an upset of the set. 17, 25-15, 15-8.
No. 7 Utah Military Academy Hill Field (Riverdale) defeated No. 10 Freedom Prep in the first round, but lost to No. 2 North Sanpete in three sets.
UMA (playing at No. 5) and Ben Lomond (playing at No. 6) continue Saturday's repechage.

Bear River's Progress
GARLAND — Seventh-ranked Bear River (15-8) lost 11-1 to No. 10 Tuele (17-10) in the second game of the second-round series, but was 7-1 in the rubber match. He won and advanced. Up to 4A double elimination bracket play.
Caitlin Wilson pitched a complete game in the final game of the series, allowing one hit and one run while recording 12 strikeouts. Vera Douglas went 2-for-3 with a double. Aubrey Frye was 2-for-2 with two hits and one drive. Lucy Roche, Alex Eudy and Oakley Barton each had RBI singles.
The Bears will play No. 2 Desert Hills on Wednesday, May 15 at noon at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex.
In the Game 2 loss, Douglas hit an RBI single against Bear River. Roche, Kendyl Archibald and Kaya Town each had a hit.
Davis 8, Weber 6 (8)
Pleasant Views — Davis scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to take an 8-5 lead and beat Weber's rally for the region win.
Lauryn Hall had two hits and an RBI in five for Davis (16-4, 8-2, Region 1). Rayleigh Stearns and Jada Chilton each had an RBI single. Serena Ross pitched all eight innings, allowing nine hits, five earned runs, five walks, and six strikeouts.
Rosin Howell went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two RBIs for Webber (10-11, 5-5). Moira Tinsley added a solo shot. Reagan Blaisdell had two hits for three at bats, a double and an RBI. Isabella Bird added a double.

SPANISH FORK — Morgan dropped two games in the 3A state tournament, losing 9-3 to Emery and 11-5 to Providence Hall. The Trojans finished the season with an 18-10 record.

Bear River 3, Mountain Crest 0
GARLAND — Michael Sanchez and Gehrig Marble both went 2-for-3 with one RBI and No. 5 Bear River shut out No. 12 Mountain Crest (16-12) and swept the 4A second-round series.
Holden Potter and Brooks Drollinger each had two hits for Bear River (21-6). Potter earned the win with five hits, two walks, and five strikeouts in six innings on the mound.
Bear River will advance to double-elimination bracket play and take on No. 4 Desert Hills at Salt Lake Community College on Monday, May 13 at 7 p.m.
