Well, shit. I've spent most of this century praying for a team that would make me feel like the 90's Knicks I felt when I was a kid, and that's exactly what happened. Tuesday night, my worst emotions came back like a tsunami. Tyrese Maxey plays the role of the bad motherfucker who walks up to MSG, puts the entire franchise on his back, and tears the Knicks' heart, and Mitchell Robinson plays the role of the Knicks, who gives the bad motherfucker a knife for an indefensible mistake and saves him. At the worst possible moment in his role, Josh Hart misses a late free throw and chaos ensues. The characters change, but the outcome feels the same. A six-point lead in a close game that lasted 28 seconds would be the end. But that's often not the case with the Knicks. Being disemboweled through haters' holes is woven into the fabric of being a Knicks fan with orange blood and blue tears.
Game 6 of the series is coming up in Philadelphia, and after the victory in Game 4, Knicks fans invaded the city, took over the stadium, and held a street party, making it a real battleground. I don't think so. It will be difficult to recover from a 3-1 deficit, but it is not impossible. Especially in this close series where either team could have won every game (insert inappropriate sexual innuendo here, because I'm way too shot and at this point (Because I don't know what's going on.)
The only thing that made me feel a little better is that I'm not a hockey fan. Because I couldn't understand how Borelis could live with the awful thing he went through last week.
Do you meet Knicks fans? It could even get worse. Unless you're a Knicks and Islanders fan. In that case, it can't really get any worse. But these people knew it all their lives.
It's time for this Knicks team to pull themselves together and fight back, just as they have after every challenge this season. With 28 seconds left in the basketball game he was up by 6 and it was time to win the series again in Philadelphia unless no one committed a cardinal sin.
Sorry I had to take that out. If you can make it in time, I'll see you on Thursday.
