SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The Portland Pilots picked up two wins in California, defeating the University of San Mateo Bulldogs and the West Valley College Vikings. The following year, they improved to 3 wins and 2 losses.
The Pilots won both contests 5-0 to earn the sweep. This is the pilot's first sweep of the year. The Pilots ended up losing just one set in both matches, and won the rest in just two sets. Pilot 1 featured Leonie Freitag and Erin Larson, while Portland 2 featured Annika Sternberger and Sophie Lee. Taylor Helle and Valerie Brooke made up Pilot 3, Kiri Robbins and Elena Bremer served as Pilot 4, and Maui Robbins and Jordan Baldouche served as Pilot 5.
