Bemidji, Minnesota – Bemidji State men’s hockey freshman after helping the Beavers defeat Ferris State and advance to the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Mason Cup playoff semifinals Eric Pohlkamp Named CCHA Defenseman of the Week.
Paulkamp led all CCHA defensemen with three goals and two assists for five points last weekend as the top-seeded Beavers defeated No. 8 seed Ferris State in the Mason Cup quarterfinal series. Two of his scores came on the power play, and the other was the game-winning goal in overtime of Bemidji State's 5-4 come-from-behind victory. On Saturday, he scored two goals in the Beavers' 4-0 victory and totaled eight shots on goal and two blocks in the series.
The Brainerd, Minn., native earned his third CCHA honor of the week and his second Defenseman of the Week honor.
In addition to him, Lake Superior's Connor Milburn (forward), Minnesota State's Alex Tracy (goaltender) and Michigan Tech's Isaac Gordon (rookie) were also named weekly recipients.
