Annapolis, Maryland โ Three days later, Navy's men's and women's swimming and diving programs took first place at the 2024 Patriot League Swimming and Diving Championships at Navy Lejeune Hall.
For women, Army West Point is second with 826 points, followed by Boston University in third with 708 points. Army ranked second in the men's division with 1,013 points, while Loyola Maryland finished the day in third place with 739 points.

100 yard butterfly
Navy junior Caroline Irwin took first place in the women's 100 butterfly with a score of 52.68, followed by U.S. senior Mimi Watts (52.84) and Army junior Megan Cole (53.87). In the men's race, Navy took first and second place. Senior Jonah Harm, the current Patriot League, Patriot League Championship and pool record holder, took first place (45.78 points), followed by senior teammate Patrick Colwell (45.94 points). Army senior James Pinter placed in the top three (46.70 points) and set an academy record.
400 Yard Individual Medley (IM)
In the women's 400-yard individual medley, Lehigh graduate student Sarah Hardy took first place (4:15.78), setting a school record and becoming Lehigh's first Patriot League 400-yard IM champion since 2014. Army sophomore Catriona Gilmore took second place (4:17.44) and Boston College sophomore Haley Newman (4:19.28) rounded out the top three in the event. In the men's race, Army freshman Calvin Hahn won the gold medal (3:46.19), Army junior Clayton Bernauer (3:48.53) won the silver medal and Bucknell University junior Andy Dorcel (3:51.78) won the bronze medal. Gilmore and Kopac both broke their respective school records.
200 yard freestyle
In the women's 200 free, Army sophomore Molly Webber took first place with a time of 1:47.28, and Navy fourth-year Gabi Baldwin took second with a time of 1:47.75. Lehigh junior Willa Werweis (1:48.48) took third place. In the boys race, Army junior Wes Tate took first place with a time of 1:35.20. Navy junior Everett Andrew was second (1 minute 35.51 seconds), and Bucknell University junior Chris Kopac finished in the top three with a school record time of 1 minute 35.72 seconds.
100 yards breaststroke
For the second year in a row, Army senior Aurelie Migaud took first place (1 hour, 1 minute, 21 seconds). Navy senior Riley Gavigan (1:01.43) took second place, and Bucknell University freshman Kate Hundley took third place (1:02.37). On the men's side, Army sophomore Cohen Rankin took first place (52.28 points), BU graduate student Kyle Falkstrom set a school record for second place (52.82 points), and Loyola Maryland graduate student Max Verheyen took first place (52.28 points). He took 3rd place (53.18 points).
100 yard backstroke
In the women's 100-yard backstroke, Navy freshman Ella Habjian won the gold medal in 53.41 seconds, and Boston University senior Lara Mitchell won the silver medal for the second straight year (53.90 seconds). Navy junior Megan Murphy finished in the top three with a time of 55.03 seconds.
In the boys race, Navy took the top spot with freshman Ben Irwin finishing in a time of 46.84 seconds. A pair of Loyola brothers took second and third place, with freshman Joe Heyburn taking second place (47.11 points) and junior Patrick Heyburn taking third place (47.68 points).
Women's 1 meter diving
BU senior Sumi Cameron, the 2023 Patriot League Women's Diver of the Meet, won the 1-meter diving competition for the second year in a row with a score of 293.65. Navy sophomore Mackenzie Kim took second with a score of 289.85, and Army junior Min Donell took third with a score of 270.00.
200 yard freestyle relay
In the women's 200-meter free relay, the Loyola team consisting of fourth-year Lily Mead, junior Avery Stimmel, freshman Haley Robinson, and junior Charlie Tullio took first place with a time of 1:30.94, earning them a spot in the Patriot League. tied the Patriot League championship record. Army West Point's team (1:31.46), consisting of junior Clara Williams, junior Megan Cole, junior Rhea Smith, and sophomore Molly Weber, placed second, ahead of Boston University's 4 The team of senior Lara Mitchell, senior Madison Kim, senior Sydney Sorbello, and freshman Han Hoang took second place. 3rd place (1:32.29) is a school record.
Army sophomore Ben Forsman, junior Owen Harlow, sophomore Cohen Rankin, and freshman Thomas Haji set the pool, academy, Patriot League, and Patriot League championship records at 1:18. He finished the third day with a time of 91 seconds. The Navy men's team earned their second podium finish with fourth-year Jonah Harm, sophomore Ben Denman-Grimm, junior Everett Andrew, and sophomore Gavin Green finishing in 1:18.21. . Loyola senior Caleb Kelly, junior Patrick Heyburn, junior Henry Mueller and freshman Joe Heyburn (1:18.78) took third place.
